  ABSTRACT

Angiofollicular lymphoid hyperplasia was described in 1956 by Benjamin Castleman. Axillary presentation is less than 5% of patients. Two clinical (localized and generalized) and three histopathological types (hyaline vasculer, plasma cell and mixed) of Castlemann disease have been described. Altough the localized type’s course is benign, generalized type has a poor prognosis due to concomitant hematologic malignancies. We present a patient diagnosed as lymphoma during his follow-up for localized Castleman disease within the review of the literature.
